My big sister, a keen fashion historian and seamstress, always wanted me to keep a daily fashion diary that would serve as a record for future generations of everyday dress in our lifetime.

Sadly, my sister died in 2011, before our project came to fruition. This blog is for her; I'm just sorry that I didn't start it sooner. I hope she would approve.

Date: Sunday 25th November 2012 Place: Ladybower Reservoir, Peak District

Boy oh boy, was it cold on Sunday! We went out walking around the beautiful Ladybower reservoir, buffeted by the wind. It was bracing to say the least, but we had a brilliant time. I wore my skinny coated jeans and long boots with a blue cotton shirt and horsey jumper - a good outdoorsy outfit!

Date: Monday 30th July 2012 Place: Bakewell, The Peak District

After breakfast, we took a stroll through Bakewell’s beautiful gardens. Between showers, the weather was lovely; but when it rained, it rained hard! I wore this Oasis pleated dress again; it’s proving to be rather versatile. Today, I paired it with a bright pink cardigan from Uniqlo and an unusual pink and tan belt that I picked up in Kuala Lumpur (dahhling!) - which do you like best, this version or last week’s, with the yellow cardigan?

Date: Sunday 29th July 2012 Place: Haddon Hall, Peak District

To celebrate the end of my holiday, my mum and I decided to take an overnight trip to the beautiful Peak District. We spent yesterday exploring ancient Haddon Hall - it has been used for filming a wealth of period dramas, so parts of it were quite familiar. The Other Boleyn Girl, three adaptations of Jane Eyre, Pride & Prejudice and Elizabeth are just a few of the films which have featured the house! If you visit the Peak District, I can highly recommend a trip to the hall, to see the lovely gardens if nothing else.

I wore my apricot metallic sweater with slim taupe trousers and pink ballet pumps, and accessorised with a blowsy corsage and pearly bracelet.
